the "get directions" of google maps reminds me of rally pace notes. anyone using the app for tsd rally?

with the announcement of hyundai being back to wrc, i can't help but compare the whole scenario to mitsubishi's domination in the rally championship way back. i wonder what whould hyundai call their motorsport division, not to mention the engine that would carry them to championship. things are definitely looking good for the hyundai.

Just found out:

"When you stop at a stoplight and hold your foot on the brakes for approximately 3 minutes, the area just under the brake pads is under more pressure, so, it gets much hotter...about 400 degrees. This area expands even more, causing the rotor to "WARP". This area is permanently thicker than the rest of the rotor, thereby causing a sometimes violent vibration only under braking."

car battery

on troubleshooting

• it's indication of failure is not like that of the flashlight battery that it slowly dims.
• volt meter should read 13.2 +/- when car is off or 14.0 when engine is running. if it does not, either replace it or wait for it to fail totally while your parked or driving.
• don't think that if it's new it will not fail. battery life can go from 1second up to 9years. have it checked.

on replacing

• disconnecting: negative first. connecting: negative last.
• don't try to charge a dead battery with the alternator. it requires battery to work properly.
• mind all the parts that uses electricity(alarm, ecu, audio equipments, etc)

gurney flaps

note to self: those are called gurney flaps and not ducktails as it is colloquially called in the philippines. what does it do - you ask? well, nothing much. it just enhances the wing for further downforce. check wikipedia on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gurney_flap for further info.

but will it work on the rear end if it's not attached to an airfoil? hmmm. i wonder.

advan inspires me

the wheels at 1:22 is same as the one that i bought years ago. 

now im having thoughts if i should get an a17 lancer or an a15 colt.

the colt has a lighter body but the lancer's got power advantage and more option. although it's easier to slap a dohc 4g63 on a colt than on the lancer. another advantage is the parts availability and abundance of the lancer. although it's aerodynamic is inferior than that of the colt(basis would be the body curve). so much to consider!
